Chris Watson

What's it about?

The Expo Leeds festival presents a free concert featuring some of the leading international artists working in soundscape composition. This event will be an immersive audio journey into imagined and real sound environments.

Beginning in the winter months of 2008, Lee Patterson has been visiting Holbeck’s Tower Works site, investigating and recording certain sounds resident there. These recordings, accompanied by the live manipulation of objects collected from the site, will form the material for his performance at the concert.

Chris Watson is a renowned sound recordist best known for his pioneering work on BBC programmes such as ‘The Life of Mammals’. His and Yannick Dauby's new multichannel pieces are commissioned by the Postive Soundscapes project and will attempt to imagine the urban soundscapes of the future.

Peter Cusack, best known for the Favourite London Sounds project will present a performance of audio recordings gathered from urban and rural sites around the globe.
