Bursaries to Composers Scheme

Sound and Music are pleased to support and provide grant administration for the British Council's new Bursaries to Composers Scheme. This is available to British composers, resident in the UK, who want to travel overseas to attend significant presentations of their work in major public venues and festivals.

Details

The Bursaries to Composers scheme is in its pilot period, and the next dealine for applications is 28 February 2010. The applications can be considered a maximum of nine months before the performance, and will be reviewed at a meeting of the Bursaries to Composers panel approximately two weeks after each closing date. Bursaries awarded will range from £100 - £1000.

To apply, you need to fill in this Application Form and send it to us along with the following:

  • Details of the work, confirmed performance and invitation to attend, and contract from the host venue/festival organisers. This should state clearly the extent of the financial contribution being made by the host venue/festival. If no contract is available, a letter of support from the host venue/organiser can be supplied.
  • A recent CV/brief biography.
  • Details of quotes or estimates for travel.
