The Bristol Ensemble swells to a 25-piece orchestra to feature works by living British composers inspired by ancestry, ritual and landscape. Philip Mead gives the world premiere of Jolyon Laycock's "Among Seven Hills" which takes its name from the valley of the river Avon and the downs surrounding his native city of Bath. It takes the form of a Sinfonia Concertante in five movements for piano and chamber orchestra.

The Bristol Ensemble gratefully acknowledges financial support from the PRS Foundation, the City of Bristol and the BIRTHA research programme of Bristol University
