UCL Environment Institute, TippingPoint and the UCL Slade School of Art: ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 2009-10
UCL Environment Institute, TippingPoint and the UCL Slade School of Art
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE 2009-10
With this post, the UCL Environment Institute is hoping to enhance further its aim of connecting the arts community and environmental professionals in order to explore and promote the relationship between the arts, science, technology, business and the environment, as a means of enhancing understanding and fostering collective action.
The artist will be required to conduct a programme of work for academic staff and researchers linking art with environmental issues centred on climate change and also pursue their own work on the subject. The specific content and structure of this programme will be your proposal and will form the basis of selection at the interview stage. We anticipate that it might include a combination of various types of activities and styles of art.
The award is for 2 days per week for 9 months (October – June) and it is £8,000 plus up to £1,000 for expenses. The UCL Environment Institute will provide office space as required during this period.
The closing date for applications is 5pm, Friday 19th June 2009 and interviews will be held on Thursday 9th July 2009. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified. Applications are to be made by letter addressed to Ms Marianne Knight, UCLEI, Pearson Building, Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT or by email: Marianne.knight@ucl.ac.uk. Letters of application should include the following: a brief CV, details of recent work where it may be relevant to this project and an outline of the proposed programme of work for the residency.
