- London
I'm an Australian composer and have been living in (and loving!) London since 2005. I studied with Peter Sculthorpe at the University of Sydney and completed my Honours thesis on the music of Erik Satie. I studied film composition at the Australian Film Television and Radio School with Jan Preston. I'm an Associate Represented Composer with the Australian Music Centre (the Australian equivalent of what used to be BMIC) and an accredited music copyist.
My work has been mainly for chamber ensembles although I am currently (2011) working on my first orchestral piece. I have had works performed in Australia and Europe by a variety of performers including Ensemble Decadanse, Topology, pianist Jeanell Carrigan and London New Wind Ensemble. You can listen to some of my music on my website at http://caitlinrowley.com or on SoundCloud at http://soundcloud.com/caitlinrowley
My Satie research is part of an ongoing online musicology project and can be found at Erik Satie's Crystal Ball
By day I code website interfaces and dabble in a little academic proofreading.
