The London Symphony Orchestra announces the final stage of an innovative commissioning project giving three UK based composers – normally aged under 40, with some experience of writing for a symphony orchestra - the opportunity to work with the LSO.
The UBS Soundscapes: Pioneers series will comprise of three, 5 minute commissions for the 2010/11 season developed by composers working directly with the Orchestra.
The composers selected will be given the chance to hear their piece in an open workshop on Thursday 24th June 2010, 3 – 6pm. This will give successful applicants a chance to adjust their ideas and orchestrations prior to the premiere at the Barbican. The closing date for applications is Monday 7 September 2009.

Application Process
Applications should comprise the following:
1. Scores of three recent works, ideally including two orchestral pieces. Please include recordings of these works where available
2. CV and statement of no more than 300 words setting out why you want to take part in this opportunity
3. SAE, to cover return postage of materials unless you are able to collect from LSO offices
