Martin trained on classical organ and also studied recorder and violin. He graduated with a 2:1 in Music with Visual Practice from Brighton, studying composition under Billy Cowie. Martin went on to train as a music teacher and gained an MA in Art and Design in Education (London). He collaborated with sound-engineer Alex Madill, producing an audio installation for a Docklands open studio. His teaching experience covers nine years at majority inner-London state schools: as a music coordinator, a music specialist in special needs education and a supply teacher. Martin supports contemporary practice utilising alternative techniques such as graphic score for inclusive and evolutionary learning. He is a Founder Member of SAM and member of a community choir based in Hampstead. Martin’s poetry is published in Quartz, 20x20 and Interlude magazines. He edits Playerist magazine featuring contributions from international artists and writers.
