Profiles
I have been working as an independent artist for over 18 years, practising across a range of disciplines, creating solo and collaborative works that push and blur the boundaries of live and digital art. As lead artist on the ground-breaking surround sound piece for motion simulator 32,000 Points of Light I created a dialogue between forms, artist and audience. This line of enquiry further manifested itself in the first UK ambisonic installation and performance Whiteplane2 touring to critical acclaim with Contemporary Music Network in 2006. I continue to make innovative developments within sonic, installation and performance works utilising a range of processes merging emergent technologies, design and concepts engaging an audience in works where the author seeks to engage an audience in subtle dislocation to re-examine ourselves within the world. I have toured work both nationally and internationally from London’s South Bank to ISEA Japan, RADAR Mexico City, FILE Sao Paulo and residencies in Sydney, Melbourne and Mexico. I have been commissioned by significant UK galleries and festivals including Arnolfini, Baltic Gallery and Manchester Festival and receive ongoing support from a roster of public funders and industry partners most notably Arup Acoustics NYC. My work has been described by audience members and critics as ‘disorientating and beautiful’.
