Savaran
Savaran is Mark Walters from Wales in the UK. He is an electronic musician working in the ambient, soundscaping, sound design and experimental fields of music. After developing an early interest in electronic music in the 1980’s he moved away from the music scene to develop a career as an Archaeologist. In 2008 he returned to music and records from his home on the Welsh border near Shrewsbury.
His musical style is inspired by the random daily events and occurences that life throws at you, landscapes, nature, environment, atmosphere, astronomy, past cultures and the indefinable need to make music.
The debut album Strange Landscape is a mix of his ambient, electro-acoustic, experimental, soundscaping and electronic music. The music is created on a variety of software and hardware synthesisers and also utilises field recorded material which has been manipulated using samplers and effects. Many of the ambient tracks have a rich, deep and haunting quality which paint pictures in sound of mysterious landscapes and unexplored horizons.
Savaran is keen to build up links with artists wishing to collaborate on projects related to music production, sound in the landscape and environment, installations, archaeological acoustics and live events.
