What's it about?
The Sound Source is an experimental music night that takes place on the second Tuesday of every month.
Every Sound Source event has its own theme and is different from what's gone before. Whatever the brew – acoustics, multimedia, composed, improvised, collaboration, vocal or DJ, folk or electronic – it is always stimulating and original. The Sound Source is experimentation and entertainment for everyone involved.
Each Sound Source features artists and films that are somehow linked to its theme. So, for example, 2008's October event was 'Cartoons and Weirdness' and centred round the work of Raymond Scott, who wrote lots of tunes for Looney Tunes 'toons and whose music makes regular cameo appearances in The Simpsons and Ren and Stimpy.
