Nicholas Peters was born in Exeter in 1984 and is a SAM shortlisted composer. He studied composition with Nick Atkinson and music analysis with Roger Heaton at Bath Spa University College, where he graduated from in July 2005 with a First Class Honours Degree in Music. In October 2005 he then went to study composition with Christopher Fox at Huddersfield University, where he graduated from the Masters in Music Composition course with a Pass with Distinction in September 2006. From October 2006 he continued to study with Christopher Fox, this time at Brunel University on the PhD Composition course. His Doctoral studies have been partially funded with the generous support of the Bishop Fox’s Educational Foundation, Taunton, Somerset. Nicholas has had works performed by The Arditti String Quartet, Rhodri Davies, Anton Lukoszevieze, Lorna Osbon, Charlotte Pugh, Philip Thomas, Vicky Wright and the John Armitage Memorial Concert Series. These performances have taken place across the UK in Bath, Edinburgh, Huddersfield and London. Most recently, Balaclava for Cello, Harp and Speaking Voice received its premiere as part of Anton Lukoszevieze's Crazy Wisdom event within the Sound Source Series at Kings Place, London.
