From consultancy, production and distribution Big Bang Lab is a cultural-social enterprise dedicated to engage communities worldwide across age and background with social, art, environmental and cultural heritage issues.
Big Bang Lab designs and delivers unique independent productions combining the re-use of archive media and promoting silent cinema (historical and contemporary)with live original music. We design and deliver innovative outreach and learning music and film programmes.
Big Bang Lab is using new music and live performances as a dynamic resource to engage the public with heritage as well as other forms of public engagement. Through the production and promotion of independent contemporary digital silent films with original live music, Big Bang Lab is finding new market opportunities for young composers whilst developing new audiences.
Previous productions include, Clonic Mutations for the Tate modern Dali exhibition a programme of new scores for surreal silent films including the award winning Un Chien Andalou. Unseen Voices a production for the Holocaust Memorial Day in Wembley, Invitation to a Journey (ICA, Open Rehearsal), Listen for the Canary Wharf Film Festival and Delhi City Symphony.
We represent musicians, emerging ensembles and composers in relation to the film work that we promote worldwide. Unlike commercial publishers, we do it on the basis of new model of co-operative royalty distribution.
