Jordan Hunt is one of Britain's most unique emerging young composer / performers. His music and collaborative work crosses artistic horizons, and can be defined by strong tangible ideas that communicate directly, displaying a beguiling ear for texture and melody, paired with a wit for unnerving juxtaposition and optimistic climax. His work has been performed throughout the UK and internationally at major venues and festivals including the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, King's Place, Aldeburgh Festival, Bridgewater Hall, Za-Koenji, Japan, and on BBC Radio 3 and 4; by such renowned performers as Oliver Knussen, James Macmillan, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Claire Booth, Marina Poplavskaya, the BBC Singers, the BBC Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta. He was a founding members of the London Sinfonietta Collective, a group of young artists, collaborating to curate events and create work with the London Sinfonietta, and is also violinist in cult performance orchestra The Irrepressibles.Recent collaborations include works with Theo Adams (TATE Britain / Frieze / ICA), Matthew Stone (Royal Academy), Masumi Saito (Royal College of Art), La JohnJoseph (Latitude Festival), Scottee (Royal Opera House) and Dickie Beau (Barbican). An experienced teacher and animateur, Hunt has led collaborative composition workshops for the LPO, Aldeburgh Education, Streetwise Opera, spnm’s Composing for Kids (C4K), Sound Inventors Residential, the Britten-Pears Summer School, and the Spitalfields Festival
