Opportunity: Be heard at ISCM's World New Music Days in Canada!
The International Society for Contemporary Music needs you!
The festival is an annual international showcase of new music from around the globe, attended by international delegates as well as producers, programmers and composers.
To complete a line-up of Canada's best musicians and composers, they are seeking work from member countries and delegations to celebrate the breadth of new music today.
How it works in a nutshell...
As the official British member of ISCM, Sound and Music are invited to submit six new works (from 14 categories) to the international jury that meet specified criteria - with one piece being guranteed a live-slot at the festival. Ensembles and performers have already been selected for the specific categories.
Artists can submit works to Sound and Music to consider for shortlisting (for free) or, alternatively, they can submit directly to ISCM as an individual (for €53).
You can only submit once so please bear this in mind.
Please read our application guide ahead of submitting works, you can find it here>>
The ISCM World New Music Days 2017 in Vancouver, Canada is committed to a diverse and inclusive Festival.
One of the organisers’ expressed goals for the Festival is to achieve gender parity in the programming of works, ensembles, and panels. Diversity in all its forms (race, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, language, physical ability, and age) will be a guiding factor in all programming. Applications are particularly welcome from women and traditionally under-represented populations.
The British selection panel will have this in mind when deciding which works to shortlist and submit.
Deadline: October 21, 2016 at 12:00PM
