Size Zero Opera was founded by composer and mezzo-soprano, Laura Bowler in 2007. The company specialise in the creation and performance of contemporary and innovative chamber opera with emerging individuals in exciting and challenging ways. 

Size Zero Opera began with the premiere of 'My Friend Annie', a 30 minute music theatre work depicting the stream of conscience of an anorexic teenage girl, which was later nominated for a 'Royal Society for the Promotion of Health through Music Award'. 

Size Zero Opera have premiered several works at the internationally renowned Tête à Tête Opera Festival in London, and have given performances at the Grimeborn Opera Festival, the Linbury Theatre (Royal Opera House), Singapore Yong Siew Toh Concert Hall,  London's Little Opera House and the Arcola Theatre.

Future productions include the premiere of Arne Gieshoff's The Viagron and Darren Bloom's Kettlehead at the Tête à Tête Opera Festival and the Arcola Theatre. The 2014 season features productions of Lorenzo Troiani's Ex Ponto, Chris Gendall's Incident, and a new opera from Sam Bordoli in Winter 2014.

Size Zero Opera is generously supported by the PRS Foundation, Stephen Oliver Award, Holst Foundation, RVW Trust and the LSO Soundhub Scheme.
