Stephen Cornford - Solipsism Cinema

10th - 11th October 2013
London and Bristol

Stephen Cornford completes his residency for Sound and Music's Embedded program with in this special off-site multi-projection and sound event, with invited guest Greg Pope, in London and Bristol.

This expanded cinema performance, using four 16mm projectors, deals with the mechanics and optics of the projector itself.

Filmed while in residence at labs, the work searches for an optical form of feedback, closing the distance between camera and projector by pointing their lenses at one another.

About the Embedded Programme

Embedded is a Sound and Music composer and creative artist development programme. Funded by The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Embedded places a selection of composers from a range of disciplines into extended relationships with leading national arts organisations.

Aimed at talented composers and creative artists at an early stage in their career, Embedded is a bespoke programme, providing practical hands-on experience and a range of significant creative opportunities. So far nearly twenty composers have benefited from Embedded, and there is overwhelming evidence that it can be a transformational experience in terms of talent development, artistic ambition, professional experience and growing networks.

You can now browse a range of the composers involved in Embedded Composer Residencies on Pinterest here.
