Miraikan- Museum for Emerging Science and Innovation

3D Earth suspended

For the last 2 weeks I've been away on tour in Japan, and one of the things I did whilst over there was visit Miraikan, the National Museum for Emerging Science and Innovation in Tokyo.  There are loads of fantastic interactive exhibits there, including robots and bits of spaceships!
Something the caught my interest and connected with Sound and Music was their Laboratory for New Media exhibition- which is a space that they give to artists involved with science and technology, showing around 3 different exhibits a year.
The current exibition was called "The Smiley Transisters" [sic] by Ryota Kuwakubo, which explored people's interation with objects on a human level. Examples of this were adding a pair of bliking eyes to an object, balls which glow and giggle and machines which imitate rhythms you tap on the table.
