music we'd like to hear

music we'd like to hear

Something I've been to for the past few years is the mini-series 'music we'd like to hear'. These are 3 concerts held annually and curated by Tim Parkinson, Markus Trunk and John Lely.
The reason why I keep coming back is that there's always somethign new to discover- through this I've become acquainted with the Wandelweiser composers including Michael Pisaro and Jurg Frey and become more familliar with music of lesser know British experimentalists such as Richard Emsley and Michael Parsons.
This year there are plenty of names I don't know and a 70th birthday portrait concert of Tom Johnson, whose work I really admire and isn't played too often in London.
I'm going to try and come to as many of these as possible, and hope to discover more music I'd like to hear (but maybe didn't realise it before)
