Call: Films for Music 

Part of a series of live events, beginning at Hundred Years Gallery, E2.

11th January, 8pm. 

Britten Hack and film selection in partnership with  The Zone 

New music for film by Joel Bell guitar, Phil Maguire guitar/electronics, Kate Halsall keyboards, Sarah Dacey voice, Paul Fretwell electronics, Serge Vuille percussion.

Create film, or supply existing film which respond to suggested themes, to be performed with improvising ensemble. The musical starting point is for longplay performance, providing the ensemble with a 45-50 minutes set length in total. Your work should be under 15 minutes in length and there may be sections or 'movements' within your final work. 

Themes: Texts incorporated are from a number of sources including Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes (Letter XII from The Borough) and Opus 11 On This Island as well as Graham Greene, D H Lawrence and John Fowles, relating to landscape and our relationship with change eg “living in the chinks”, The Rainbow).
