The SaM Summer School is a unique weeklong course for 14-18 year olds who want to create new and original music.

Now in its ninth year, the SaM Summer School is the only residential course of its kind in the UK for young creators and composers aged 14-18. The programme was devised by Sound and Music, the national charity for new music, in partnership with The Purcell School of Music.

"SaM is 10": The SaM Summer School 10th Birthday Campaign

Since the doors of the Summer School opened in 2009, over 500 young composers, music creators and sound generators have been on our residency, creating over 2000 minutes of new music!  We want to celebrate this massive achievement but also pave the way for the next ten years.

Over the next two years, we will be releasing 10 short videos that celebrate the SaM Summer School in all it's glory, in the lead up to a summer of activity in 2018
