Sound and Music presents a half-day of discussions exploring career models in the world of modern composition. Bringing together industry figures for a panel discussion and practical presentations, the event is a networking and professional development opportunity for early-career composers and performers who want to explore current and new ways of working with others.

Panelists and participants include Graham Mckenzie (Artistic Director, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival), Jennifer Walshe (composer and vocalist), Gabriel Prokofiev (composer, producer and founder of the Nonclassical record label and club night) and Anton Lukoszevieze (cellist and director of ensemble Apartment House).

Presentations will also be given by Vanessa Reed (Co-Director, PRS for Music Foundation) on funding for artists and Stephen Newbould (Artistic Director, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group) on how to make the most of opportunities to work with ensembles and organisations when you get them.

Counting In is part of the BBC Symphony Orchestra's Total Immersion: Jonathan Harvey weekend.
