Sound and Music at Classical Next

14 - 16 May // Vienna

This year Sound and Music will be presenting at the classical music conference Classical Next in Vienna. We'll be discussing data-driven audience development for artists and organisations and how everyone can start using the data they have to understand their audiences better.

Friday 16 May, 1 - 2pm
Using Data to Understand Audiences - Insights into data-driven audience development
MAK Conference Room 1

  • Paul Moore from the University of Ulster, who is collaborating with us on the Grassroots audience development project, will lead the session with a discussion of data in the arts
  • Laura Bowler from Size Zero Opera will be in conversation with our Creative Project Leader (Data) Kealy Cozens about how small organisations and individuals can understand their online networks
  • Nick Sherrard will be presenting on using data for organisations
  • We'll also be asking the room to discover more about their data and how we can work together to get more from our data

We'll be using #classicalnext to open the session up online but before then here are three things to get started:

Read: Counting what counts: What big data can do for the cultural sector from Paul Moore and partner Anthony Lilley
Play: See which of your Twitter followers you share with other accounts with Twiangulate
Track: Follow #classicalnext with TweetBinder in the run up to the conference

As recently announced President of IAMIC, Sound and Music's Chief Executive Susanna Eastburn will be donning her IAMIC hat at Classical Next on the Thursday.

Thursday 15 May 2014, 2 - 2.45pm
