Summer School for Young Composers

A 7 day residential course for young composers & creative musicians aged 14-18.

Over a week in August, this unique course gives young composers aged 14-18 the chance to develop their voice and technique by immersing them in a creative, collaborative and challenging environment. Students work within their allocated tutor groups receiving tuition from leading composers and professional musicians, as well as enjoying a variety of talks, workshops and Taster Sessions throughout the week. The Summer School culminates in recordings and performances of the work created during the week for friends and family.

Supporting the teaching of composition from a young age is a key priority for Sound and Music. As more resources and learning become available we aim to be able to share this with as many educators as possible, join our mailing list to be the first to know.
