20 - 28 March // Birmingham

for-Wards is a music project produced by Brummie composer Bobbie-Jane Gardner.

Its aims are simple: 40 original, musical compositions inspired by Birmingham’s 40 electoral wards.

It is a celebration of the wonderful communities, unique sounds and musical talent in Birmingham.

This pilot project (October 2014 – March 2015), seeks to give Brum based residents the opportunity to contribute to the creation of new music, via field recording, and sharing the stories of what it is like to live in three Birmingham wards: Sparkbrook, Aston and South Yardley.

As the project unfolds stories of the neighbourhoods will be shared via the map where you can listen to the sounds we have discovered.

for-Wards is funded as part of Sound and Music’s touring programme and Arts Council England.

These events are co-produced with Sound and Music as part of the 2014/15 Touring programme, find out more about the events we're supporting here.
